Monday. March 6th
Hey, we just arrived at The Green Turtle Cay Marina on Abaco Island. Very nice place. We have Wi_Fi and will be off to find a cell phone today. Will probably be here for several days as a pretty intense cold front is just starting to pass through and winds are expected to blow at gale force starting tonight and for the next couple of days. We timed our arrival here just about right. 3hrs after we arrived the winds started to shift and pick up substantially. Not good weather to venture out into if you don't have to. We'll sit here snug and safe.
Sunday. March 5th
We are watching the weather patterns and have decided to move a few days earlier than expected. There's a pretty intense cold front forecasted to start moving through this area by late Monday or early Tuesday and we want to get moving ahead of it. We will be at anchor tonight at Great Sale Cay then arrive at Green Turtle Cay on Monday afternoon, hopefully just ahead of the weather.
We are at anchor right now. It is so cool. Very peaceful & very dark! We just finished grilling a great dinner, fresh shrimp from Key West and are watching the Oscars. Waiting to see the Movie TRUE MEN win an Oscar - I have my favorite True Men hat on!
Today is Friday, March 3rd.
We just arrived on The Grand Bahama Island. We are at the Old Bahama Bay Marina.http://www.oldbahamabay.com/
We expect to stay here 3 days. The weather will not permit us to move. We will head to The Abacos next.
The crossing yesterday from Miami to Bimini was the most beautiful day we have had. The water is so clear you can see the fish. The water was as flat as a pancake yesterday. Today we needed seat belts.
